About Myself & My Approach

“In my early professional years I was asking the question: How can I treat, or cure, or change this person? Now I would phrase the question in this way: How can I provide a relationship which this person may use for his/her own growth”. Carl Rogers

I am qualified, experienced and accredited Psychotherapist.
I have a Masters degree in Psychotherapy and Healing from Middlesex University. I am client centred and my therapeutic background is integrative.
I have Post Graduate Certificate in CBT, Cognitive Analytic Therapy and Mindfulness. I am also qualified relationships counsellor.
I have an extensive experience in working with clients who have issues relating to bereavement & loss, trauma, domestic abuse, addiction (both drugs & alcohol), harassment, cultural issues. I also work with couples and adolescents.
I am an accredited member of British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) therefore, fully endorse and abide by BACP Ethical framework.
In my approach I treat individual clients holistically  as I feel that mind/body and spiritual aspects combine to inform a person’s whole psyche.
During the therapy session I may use - through mutual agreement - the following tools and techniques to  work with the clients:

  • Reflections on current and/or past relationships and events
  • Childhood issues
  • Dream Work
  • Being in the ‘Here & Now’
  • Relaxation Techniques and/or visualisation exercises
  • Most important than this is the fact that sessions are for you to use, however you wish them to be used. It is space for you to explore, your life and your relationships.

The sessions can also be provided in Hindi, Punjabi or Urdu.
